About
Visual artist. Colour, light and layer.
Alanis Blondeel is a Belgian visual artist who explores what lies beneath the surface: emotions, memories and thoughts that are hard to put into words but shape everything we do. She approaches that depth not through heaviness, but through colour and vibrancy.
An experience is unique, yet something unique can also be universal. From that idea she playfully seeks tension in composition, texture, colour and layers of meaning.
She makes large, colourful paintings and designs light installations that evoke feeling and invite a conscious look at discomfort, in order to discover new and positive perspectives. With a background in product design, spatial design and architecture, her work communicates with its surroundings and its audience.
“Every work, painting or light object, invites you to look anew, to feel what was invisible, and to reflect on the layers that shape us.”
